About the event

Join us for this 4-week beginner yoga series to help build strength, body awareness and balance while learning the practice of mindful movement.

No matter your physical ability, yoga is for every body. Yoga has both active and passive elements that are equally important to develop when exploring the practice as a whole.

The Beginner One Yoga Series is a great place to start a yoga practice or to return to the foundations of yoga for those with experience. In each session, students will learn something new about yoga, work through fundamental poses with proper alignment, stretch their muscles, and enjoy deep relaxation.

Practicing yoga nurtures overall health and well-being, but you may not know where to start! This workshop is a comprehensive series made to prepare students to establish a yoga practice suited to you and provide you with the confidence to step into a studio class.

Over the course of 4 weeks, you will learn a complete yoga sequence that will allow you to progress safely and effectively from one point to another in your yoga practice. Each week of the series will build upon the other. You will need a yoga mat.  Extras are available.  Sign up is required.

WHEN:  Thursday's:  February 6, 13, 20, and 27

COST:  $50.00

Class will be led by Christine Valente, RDN, LDN, RYT

Christine's classes focus on creating a flow of movement and breath to leave each student feeling balanced, relaxed and refreshed. It is required that you come to class with an open heart and an open mind! The goal of Christine’s classes is to enable her students to build a unique practice of their own through opportunities to facilitate advancement and encourage compassion. Christine has been practicing yoga since 2010 and received her 200 RYT certification through the Twin Cities Yoga Collective in the spring of 2015. With a completed bachelors degree in biology, a masters degree in nutrition, and a profession as a registered dietitian nutritionist, Christine has an understanding of the human body and knows the value of living an active, healthy life. She is excited to share her love for the practice of yoga and create a space for students to grow but most importantly let go and have fun!
